Silence Speaks Volumes
The Moralt Firesound Plus 54 door core does as the name suggests – it blocks fire and noise. It is the first 54mm timber door core to achieve a certified acoustic performance of up to 45dB.
That’s for a single-leaf Door. In a double-leaf configuration, that goes down to 44dB.
It has been tested and certified using Norseal's acoustic and smoke sealing systems.
Independently verified under the BM Trada Q-Mark and IFCC schemes, Firesound Plus 54 combines FD30 and FD60 fire performance with high acoustic insulation, providing door manufacturers with a single solution for sound attenuation and fire resistance.
Security
The system can accommodate concealed ironmongery, electronic and RFID locking, and a wide range of glazing options, providing both design versatility and certified compliance.
Seals
The testing for Moralt Firesound Plus 54 used Norseal's NOR710 and NOR720 acoustic perimeter seals with the NOR810 threshold drop seal. They delivered consistent, repeatable performance. The combination provides a proven route to compliance for manufacturers, architects, and specifiers who require verified fire and acoustic ratings.
“The Firesound Plus 54 sets a new benchmark for performance and versatility,” said Michael Spoors, the managing director at Norseal. "It combines Moralt's advanced timber engineering with our sealing expertise to deliver a tested, certified system that meets today's highest standards for safety and acoustic control.”
With demand for high-performance door assemblies growing across the commercial, hospitality, and residential sectors, Firesound Plus 54 offers a dependable, tested solution that simplifies compliance.
